The 2025 31st Annual 5K race will continue to honor longtime friend and 20-year Director of the Youngstown Recreation Department, Nancy Price, and her daughter-in-law Vicki Price. The proceeds from the event are used to fund an annual scholarship in their names. These scholarships are awarded to students who have participated in Youngstown Recreation, excelled in academics, and given back to the community in the form of volunteer work.
The Friends of Youngstown (FOY) is excited to be in its second full year of supporting the community of Youngstown in its efforts to revitalize, improve and ensure long term sustainability. To date, we have brought in support to expand recreational opportunities through the Sensory Space, Open Play, and Disc Golf programs led by Youngstown Recreation, raised funds to improve Veteran's Park with updated equipment and co-hosted the Nancy Price Run in 2024. From projects like the upgraded Splash Pad in Falkner Park to the collaboration with the Town of Porter and Town of Lewiston to enhance our ball fields, we continue to advocate for a brighter future for the Village.
FOY is pleased to be officially hosting the 31st Annual Nancy Price Memorial 5K Run on Friday, May 9th, 2025 on behalf of the Village of Youngstown Recreation. This event is open to the public and has attracted runners and walkers from throughout the area.
